Physical Education for Teachers III: Older Children
30.0 ECTS creditsModule 1. Outdoor Physical Education Pedagogy, 7.5 credits
In this module, the students will learn about and conduct various forms of open-air Physical Education and outdoor activities suitable to the different seasons. Practical and theoretical exercises shed light on and problematise issues related to teaching outdoor Physical Education. In addition, the module will look at interaction between outdoor activities and environmental work.
Module 2. Learning and Leadership, 7.5 credits
In this module, the students will deepen their knowledge of pedagogical issues relating to sports and Physical Education in school. The students will take part in various forms of physical activities, analyse these activities, and relate them to the aims and objectives specified in the national syllabus for Physical Education.
Module 3. Health and Lifestyles, 7.5 credits
This module will give an in-depth coverage of factors affecting the health and working environment of school pupils and their teachers, as well as different ways of working with health issues in school. The module will also address gender perspectives on sports and Physical Education in school through independent study and seminar discussions.
Module 4. Degree Project, 7.5 credits
This module will give the students a general introduction to research methods. The students will carry out a scientific investigation with a pedagogical perspective.
