Solid State Physics7.5 ECTS credits
The course covers crystal structures, crystal bonds and experimental determination of crystal structures. Other topics are lattice vibrations, thermal properties, electronic structure of crystals, free-electon gas, energy bands, dynamics of electrons in electrical and magnetic fields, superconductivity and dielectric and magnetic properties of crystals.

Admission requirements: 45 ECTS credits in Physics, including Wave Physics and Optics (7.5 ECTS credits) (or Wave Physics and Electric Circuits, 7.5 ECTS credits), Introduction to Modern Physics (7.5 ECTS credits), Mechanics with Applications 1 (7.5 ECTS credits), and Thermodynamics and Statistical Physics (7.5 ECTS credits), plus 30 ECTS credits in Mathematics, including Linear Algebra (7.5 ECTS credits) and Calculus in Several Variables (7.5 ECTS credits), or equivalent
Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
