Solid State Physics

The course covers crystal structures, crystal bonds and experimental determination of crystal structures. Other topics are lattice vibrations, thermal properties, electronic structure of crystals, free-electon gas, energy bands, dynamics of electrons in electrical and magnetic fields, superconductivity and dielectric and magnetic properties of crystals.
Progressive specialisation: G2F (has at least 60 credits in first‐cycle course/s as entry requirements)
Education level: Undergraduate level
Admission requirements: Physics courses 45 ECTS cr., including Materia 7.5 ECTS cr (alternatively introduction to modern physics 7.5 ECTS cr), and Quantum Physics I, 7.5 ECTS cr. and mathematics 30 ECTS cr., including the courses Linear Algebra 7.5 ECTS cr and Multivariable Analysis 7.5 ECTS cr,, or equivalent.
Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
