Spanish I: Modern Spanish Literature and Film

The course centres on individual study, analysis, and discussions of a selection of 20th and 21st century Spanish and Spanish-American literary texts. Basic terminology of text analysis and discussion is treated. The texts are analysed and discussed in Spanish in terms of literary aspects, style, language, and underlying cultural contexts in the Spanish-speaking world. The analysis, terminology, and discussion of various types of modern Spanish and Spanish-American film are included.

Admission requirements: General admission requirements plus upper secondary level Modern languages - Spanish 3 or Spanish 3 Step 3, or the courses ESGN01 Spanish beginner course 1 (15 ECTS credits) and ESGN02 Spanish beginner course 2 (15 ECTS credits)
Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
