English Linguistics I: Concepts and Theories
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course introduces basic concepts and theories used in central research fields in English linguistics. Students form an understanding of the structure and use of the English language and make comparisons with Swedish and other languages. Linguistic problems are discussed and linguistic concepts and theories are applied in practical analysis tasks. Students are also introduced to linguistics as a research field, including its academic discourse.

General admission requirements and upper secondary level English 6 or English level 2, or equivalent.
Selection:
Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
