The Computer as a Tool for Engineers

The course deals with the basics of problem solving in a high level language. Also treated are engineering applications such as handling and processing data sets. The course includes the following components:
- Problem analysis and algorithms
- Data types, variables, and operators in programming, including sequence, selection, and iteration
- Functions, modular programming
- Lists and sequences
- File handling
- Debugging and testing

Progressive specialisation: G1N (has only upper‐secondary level entry requirements)

Education level: Undergraduate level

Admission requirements: General admission requirements plus upper secondary level Mathematics 3c, or equivalent

Selection:

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
