Leadership, Quality and Environmental Management for Building Engineers
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course includes lectures, exercises, seminars, industry contacts, and supervision in connection with exercises, group assignments, and projects. The projects included in the course are mandatory.
The course covers the following:
- Quality and environmental management from general and theoretical perspectives, including quality as a concept, the history of quality management, quality and environmental tools, risk assessment of working environments, quality plans, environmental plans, and ISO.
- Quality concepts such as TQM (Total Quality Management), PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act), LEAN, and improvement programs such as Six-sigma.
- Qualitative methods of analysis such as FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and customer-centred planning QFD, plus the seven improvement tools and the seven management tools of quality.
- The role of the leader, conflict management, group dynamics, and leadership strategies.

Construction Management I, 7.5 ECTS credits, and Construction Management II, 7.5 ECTS credits, or equivalent (professional experience of construction management may count as equivalent)
