Management of Building and Conversion Projects
3.0 ECTS creditsManagement of Building and Conversion Projects, 3 ECTS cr is one of three modules for the Real Estate Management Programme with a management specialisation. The other two modules are Tenant Law 3 ECTS cr, and Real Estate Management 6 ECTS cr.The three courses run concurrently with partly integrated assessment as the manager's duties encompass economic, legal and technical issues.
The module Management of Building and Conversion Projects deals with the planning of conversion projects in existing buildings, how to develop a room function plan, and important aspects for tenants and landlords. Aspects of importance vary with the purpose of the conversion and can include energy consumption, interior environment, customer flow, or availability, for example. The problems of planning and leading a construction project when the building is still in use, tenants remaining or temporarily relocated, are treated. Different technical systems and solutions for better energy- efficient buildings and lower costs are also treated.
Students carry out a mandatory practical case study involving the planning of a conversion project. Participation in the projcet and its presentation is mandatory.
