Building and Urban Planning
7.5 ECTS creditsInstruction is in the form of lectures, exercises, and hand-in assignments. Attendance during certain exercises is obligatory. Study visits and a walking tour of the city may be part of the course.
The course covers the following elements:
Residential planning:
- Aesthetics and architectural history, the history of residences
- Areal- and volume requirements and design of rooms for residential buildings and other types of buildings
- Standards and regulation systems
- Planning
- Reconstruction
Urban planning:
- Historical retrospective - urban functions and ideas
- Current conditions for planning: the Planning and Building Act (Sw. "Plan- och bygglagen"). Comprehensive plan and detailed development plan, and sustainable urban planning
- Development
- Traffic planning

House Building Technology, 7.5 ECTS Credits, CAD for Building Engineers, 7.5 ECTS Credits, or the equivalent.

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
