Working Life Science, Research Methods
7.5 ECTS creditsThe aim of the course is that students acquire basic knowledge of investigation and research methodology with special relevance for issues in working life, and that they develop the ability to apply different methods and data collecting techniques
Upon completion of the course students should be able to:
- give an account of the research process,
- give an account of the characteristics of academic articles and reports (texts),
- understand how academic texts are reviewed,
- formulate a research problem,
- understand the difference between quantitative and qualitative studies,
- apply different data collection methods and choice of methods,
- plan and carry out an investigation.
Instruction is in the form of lectures, group work and seminars. Students work with interviews and questionnaires.
