Värmland food - the sustainable meal
The project aims to create value chains in sustainable meals. The project will promote sustainable development, strengthen research and innovation, and enhance the growth and competitiveness of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Värmland food – is a collaborative project initiated by Nifa together with CTF. By creating value chains in sustainable meals, the project aims to promote sustainable development, strengthen research and innovation, and contribute to the competitiveness and growth of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Värmland food industry.
The project’s four work packages include an activity plan that serves as a common platform from which Nifa and the project partner CTF carry out efforts and activities. Through this approach, the project aims to find synergies, experiences, and benefits from each other’s unique competencies, collaboration arenas, and experiences.
The work is carried out through four work packages:
- Service design
- Interventions
- Circular business models
- International comparisons
The project’s goals are to:
- Companies in and around the sector participate in the design of services that can realize sustainable meals for different situations and target groups.
- Companies in and around the sector develop concrete collaboration to jointly offer sustainable meals.
- Procurers, buyers, and consumers gain insight, knowledge, and tools to contribute to and benefit from circularity.
- Promoters gain knowledge and tools to contribute to companies’ ability to offer sustainable meals.
