Practical and Efficient Traffic Analysis Defenses in Encrypted Networks
Practical and Efficient Traffic Analysis Defenses in Encrypted Networks aims to develop, deploy, and evaluate practical defense mechanisms that can counter traffic analysis attacks while preserving network performance.
The focus of the project is on creating solutions that not only make traffic analysis more difficult but also enable protected traffic to resemble ordinary network traffic. This makes it harder for adversaries to detect that protective mechanisms are being used.
To achieve this, the project will leverage artificial intelligence to develop adaptive defenses that can continuously adjust to changing network conditions and increasingly sophisticated attacks.
The project is expected to strengthen Sweden’s digital resilience by providing new knowledge and tools for protecting sensitive communications. In this way, it will contribute both to enhanced cybersecurity and to strengthening the competitiveness of Swedish industry in an increasingly digitalized world.
The project is carried out through close collaboration between industry and academia. The participating organizations are Sectra Communications, Linköping University, Karlstad University, and Karlstad Internet Privacy Lab (KIPL).
