New management group for the research profile HITS
2017-03-20From 1 January 2017, Reine Lundin has been the new Dean of the Faculty of Health, Science and Technology at Karlstad University, and has subsequently also taken the role as chairperson of the management group for the research profile HITS (high-quality network services in a mobile world).
Together with five Swedish industrial companies and funded by the Knowledge Foundation Computer Science at Karlstad University continues developing the HITS research profile. The aim of HITS is to create new knowledge and technical solutions that can contribute to developing the increasing mobile world.
”The change of management team took place at a strategically advantageous time”, says Stefan Lindskog, project leader of HITS and professor of computer science at Karlstad University. ”We have worked to establish and develop the profile for two out of six years and now we are planning for the next phase. The new chairperson will contribute new and complementary perspectives”.

The Knowledge Foundation funds research and professional development activities that are organised in conjunction with industry. In addition to academic quality, the Knowledge Foundation also requires industry to invest the same sum into each project that the Foundation has granted.
The purpose of profile investments is that a university should be able to establish a research environment in conjunction with companies that can be expected to be nationally competitive and attract international attention.
