Colloquium: Rohde&Schwarz and Karlstads Universitet: a success story towards understanding and optimizing 5G network performance

ABSTRACT:

Rohde&Schwarz (R&S) is a German company, leader in the telecommunication sector. The Mobile Network Testing segment provides ad-hoc solutions for testing, monitoring, and optimizing mobile networks. Technologies are in continuous evolution and in the test & measurement, secure communications, cybersecurity and broadcast & media markets, customers worldwide rely on R&S and its cutting-edge solutions. During this seminar, solutions to test commercial and private networks will be presented together with an overview of the ongoing cooperation between Karlstads Universitet and R&S.

BIO:

Marco Neri is a Customer Project Manager at Rohde&Schwarz. He obtained his MBA at LUISS University in Rome in 2023 and his MSc in Electronic Engineering at Sapienza University in Rome in 2017. He supports customers around the world to test their cellular and IoT networks with R&S solutions. Since 2018, he is involved in joint research activities with KAU towards testing, validation, and optimization of NB-IoT and 4G/5G networks in several countries, including Sweden, Norway, and Italy.
