Culture at Kau
Karlstad University has a working group dedicated to ensuring that culture has a place both within university activities and in the physical design of the campus.
Guided by Karlstad University’s strategic goals, Culture at Kau gathers and develops cultural offerings and activities to create an exciting and attractive workplace for staff and students. This is done in collaboration with the surrounding community to promote social, economic and environmentally sustainable development. Cultural activities foster cohesion, create shared narratives and strengthen the Kau identity.
Being an active and responsible part of the academic community also means embracing art and culture as a dynamic force, grounded in democracy and freedom of expression.
Culture at Kau aims to:
- Create an attractive workplace and inclusive environment through activities that offer opportunities for meetings and experiences beyond one’s own work or study group.
- Contribute cultural elements that broaden perspectives, spark debate and challenge assumptions, thereby enhancing the quality of the university’s activities.
- Highlight and connect existing cultural initiatives within the university and the wider community.
- Provide activities for all students and staff, regardless of study or work arrangements, fostering connections between the university’s different campuses.
- Organise activities that are educational, developmental and inspiring, with the aim of promoting creativity.
