ECHE charter
The European Commission has granted Karlstad University the ECHE accreditation (Erasmus Charter for Higher Education) until the academic year 2027.
ECHE can be described as a driver’s licence for institutions of higher education in Europe to cooperate with possible financial support from the EU. The accreditation replaces the previous ECHE-accreditation (2014-2020) .
Being awarded the ECHE means that Karlstad University meets the EU’s quality criteria. This approval means, for example, that colleagues at Karlstad University can continue applying for funding and for participation in staff and student exchange programmes, strategic partnerships, development projects, as well as participate in strategic programmes involving policy change in Europe and more.
Until the year 2027 the University will pursue and follow up the internationalisation objectives described in the ECHE application and in the EPS (Erasmus Policy Statement).
