STINT Institutional Grants for Younger Researchers

The goal of this project is to initiate and develop a research collaboration and an exchange program between the Dipartimento di Informatica e Sistemistica at Università di Napoli, the Network Research Lab at UCLA, USA and the Department of Computer Science at Karlstads Universitet, Sweden.

The program involves the entire spectrum of researchers, from graduate students to senior researchers, in the areas of Peer-to-Peer and Overlay Networks (primarily from UCLA), Channel Assignment (primarily from Napoli) and of Wireless Mesh Networks (primarily from Karlstad). The research profiles of the groups complement each other well and the program is expected to lead to new results in the field of Wireless Mesh Networks for applications within the area of broadband wireless access for Urban and rural areas, temporary infrastructure replacement during disaster and robust military communication, and also to have an important impact on the graduate and undergraduate educations of the participating groups.
