Mathematical Models and Multiscale Methods for Materials Science (M5S)
Date
16 – 18 of April, 2024
Venue
Karlstad University
Description and aim of the workshop
The workshop aims at sharing open problems, new ideas, and mathematical techniques applicable to exploring complex scenarios in materials science. The main goal is to identify potentially interesting research directions to be pursued in the near future. The event incorporates two PhD thesis defences in the field: Models for capturing the penetration of a diffusant concentration into rubber: Numerical analysis and simulation (S. Nepal) and Scaling effects and homogenization of reaction-diffusion problems with nonlinear drift (V. Raveendran). Both theses are produced in the Karlstad applied analysis group.
