Sol’s research focuses on climate change communication, science communication, and environmental social movements through collective/political action communication.

Sol is part of the Geomedia research group.

Bio

Sol's doctoral thesis centres around how to communicate complex and abstract issues, specifically on what makes people take political action, and what role certain types of linguistic/lexical choices play in the interpretation and reception of environmental social movement groups' communication.

Sol holds a bachelor’s degree and a one-year master’s degree in global media studies from Karlstad University. She is a former recipient of the SIDA Minor Field Studies scholarship and has studied both rhetorics at Uppsala University, developmental studies and African and Latin American history at several Swedish universities.

Sol has previously worked with the dissemination of information for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and her interest lies in environmental issues caused by climate change and deforestation, particularly in developing countries.
