Stress and mental health related to refugees

Instruction is in the form of lectures, group work and discussions. Students work independently, reading literature throughout the course, actively attending lectures and doing presentations in seminars.
The course contains
- information about the use of the library, including an introduction to the ItsLearning platform,
- Outline of theories of personal crisis as well as differences and similarities in different cultures, salutogenes (the origin of health) and empowerment.
- Theories on stress, crisis and trauma
- Research on refugees' different identity issues
- Presentation of a report on sex and family planning with a special emphasis on refugees' situations
- Discussions and reflection on how to approach child refugees and the students' own experiences of this

Progressive specialisation: G1N (has only upper‐secondary level entry requirements)

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
