Sofia Skröder
Research
I am a part‑time doctoral student at the Department of Medical Sciences at Örebro University.
In the doctoral project, I focus on evaluating methods and approaches for the diagnosis and risk stratification of atrial fibrillation (AF) in women and men at increased risk of developing the arrhythmia. The aim is to identify blood‑based biomarkers that can distinguish high‑ from low‑risk individuals, and to assess the prerequisites for clinical implementation of AF screening using handheld ECG devices in the target population.
The doctoral projects are expected to be completed by the end of 2028.
Teaching
I hold a permanent position within Karlstad University and primarily teach in cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, as well as related diseases and diagnostic methods.
