Research
I specialize in environmental analytical chemistry, remediation, and exposure science, focusing on the occurrence, fate, and behavior of contaminants of emerging concern (CECs), particularly per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), pharmaceuticals, and other micropollutants.
My expertise spans advanced LC-MS and GC-MS method development for trace-level analysis, non-target and suspect screening in complex environmental matrices, as well as the design and evaluation of novel sorption and remediation technologies, such as biochars and functional adsorbents, to remove persistent pollutants from soil and water systems.
By linking fundamental chemical occurrence data and removal mechanisms with transport processes and exposure pathways, my work aims to advance effective mitigation strategies while supporting broader environmental risk assessment and regulatory frameworks. Through collaborative interdisciplinary research, I strive to bridge state-of-the-art laboratory chemistry with practical solutions for sustainable environmental management and policy.
