Research
Idris A. Waysi holds a PhD from Stockholm University and serves as Assistant Professor of Political Science and Director of the Bachelor’s Programme in Political Science at Karlstad University.
His Aresearch interests include foreign policy and security strategy, comparative politics, the Middle East, and the philosophy of social science. His previous work has examined U.S. foreign policy toward Iran and Iraq, as well as Kurdish politics. He is currently expanding his research agenda to include disinformation, with a particular focus on Sweden and the Swedish tradition of “psychological defence,” analyzed from a comparative perspective that incorporates American and Swiss threat perceptions and responses to disinformation.
