Bio
Divya Anna Stephen is a dedicated researcher with a strong academic and clinical background spanning India, the United Kingdom, and Sweden. She completed her basic nursing education at St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences, Bangalore, India, and earned a Master’s degree in Pediatric Nursing from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi.
Her clinical experience includes working as a registered nurse in both India and the UK, where she developed a deep understanding of diverse healthcare systems and patient care practices. In addition to her clinical work, Divya has contributed to nursing education through her role as a lecturer for undergraduate nursing students at AIIMS Rishikesh, India.
Driven by a passion for research and teaching, Divya pursued doctoral studies at Karlstad University, Sweden, where she completed her PhD in 2025. Her dissertation, titled "Digital Health Technology for Supporting Diabetes Self-Care: Perspectives among Adults with Type 1 Diabetes", explores how digital health technologies can support self-care practices among adults living with type 1 diabetes, highlighting patient perspectives and the role of technology. Divya continues to be actively engaged in advancing nursing education and digital health research.
