Research
My research aims to enhance health, well-being, and quality of life across the lifespan through the development, implementation, and evaluation of innovative welfare and health services. I study how welfare services and digital solutions can support people's opportunities for health, independence, and participation, as well as the factors that may hinder these opportunities.
A central focus of my research is the development and evaluation of services that strengthen both primary and secondary prevention. This includes digital health services that support self-care, self-monitoring, and independent living, as well as interventions aimed at promoting the well-being of children, young people, and their families. Across all my research projects, I seek to contribute to sustainable and user-centred welfare solutions that create value for individuals, families, and society.
I am a researcher at CTF (Service Research Center) at Karlstad University and have been affiliated with the Academy for Smart Specialisation since 2018. Today, my research is primarily connected to the focus area Digital Health Innovations, where I investigate how digitalisation can contribute to the development of future health and welfare services.
Collaboration
I serve as project leader for the Digital Health Innovations (DHINO) initiative within DigitalWell Arena, which forms part of the Academy for Smart Specialisation. The research is conducted in close collaboration with stakeholders from the public sector, industry, and civil society, including Region Värmland, the Health and Social Care Administration of Karlstad Municipality, Friskvården i Värmland, DigitalWell Arena, and Compare.
At Karlstad University, the research is carried out in interdisciplinary teams involving colleagues from Psychology, Computer Science, Informatics, Public Health Science, Gender Studies, and Nursing. This collaborative approach enables us to address complex challenges in health, well-being, and welfare service development from multiple perspectives.
Bio
Between 2011 and 2015, I worked as a lecturer and doctoral student in the Department of Psychology at Karlstad University.
Before that, I was a research assistant at the Swedish Defence University, where I also began my doctoral studies. My doctoral thesis examined the selection process for the Swedish Armed Forces and its implications for health, performance, and recovery during and after exposure to demanding conditions.
