Bio
I work as a professor, voice teacher, researcher, and subject representative for classical singing at Ingesund School of Music. My formal education was at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and the University College of Opera in the same city, where I earned degrees in Choral Pedagogy, Church Music, and Music Directorship from KMH. Between 1991 and 1995, I continued my studies at the University College of Opera in Stockholm. I studied organ with Hans Fagius, conducting with Eric Ericson, Gustaf Sjökvist, and Jorma Panula, and voice with Solwig Grippe, Hans Gertz, Nicolai Gedda, Erik Saedén, and Gösta Winbergh. During my student years, I was a member of both the Swedish Radio Choir and the Eric Ericson Chamber Choir.
In parallel with my singing career, I am also active as a composer, primarily creating works with vocal elements—often within an electroacoustic context. Among other things, my twelve composed operas have received national and international recognition. I have been awarded numerous prizes and scholarships and have been a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music since 2015.

As a singer, I have performed at venues including Folkoperan, the Royal Swedish Opera (where I was employed as a soloist between 2000 and 2010) and Drottningholm Court Theatre. My roles include Don Ottavio (Mozart’s Don Giovanni), Remendado (Bizet’s Carmen), He (debuted alongside Nina Stemme as the lovers in Ingvar Lidholm’s A Dream Play), Nemorino (Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love), Tamino(Mozart’s The Magic Flute), Almaviva (Rossini’s The Barber of Seville), Raoul de Gardefeu (Offenbach’s La Vie Parisienne), and The Fisherman (Stravinsky’s The Nightingale).
In the 2009 season, I sang the role of Nadir in Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers in Folkoperan’s acclaimed production, and in 2014 the role of Faust in Lili Boulanger’s Faust et Hélène at Malmö Opera. In the summer of 2018, I performed the specially written role of Francesco in the world premiere of the opera Syskonen i Mantua, which received significant national and international attention.
I regularly perform in high tenor roles such as Bach’s Evangelist parts, Rossini’s Stabat Mater and Petite Messe Solennelle, Handel’s Messiah, and Haydn’s The Creation—as well as in a range of concerts featuring more popular repertoire. I have appeared as a soloist in more than forty operas, on eighteen CD recordings, and have premiered works by composers including Sven-David Sandström, Paula af Malmborg Ward, Fredrik Sixten, Ingvar Lidholm, Karin Rehnqvist, and Djuro Zivkovic.

In my free time, I enjoy singing folk songs (I play the accordion) and playing the harpsichord. I spend most of my summers at sea and in the Stockholm archipelago.
