Research
Part of the long-term interdisciplinary research project, Beslut för hållbar utveckling: Nya idéer kring samverkan för ett bättre kunskapsunderlag i miljömål, som utgår från samråds- och samverkansprocesser vid miljöbalkens tillståndsansökningar (trans. Decision-Making for Sustainable Development: New Ideas on Collaboration for Improved Knowledge Bases in Environmental Objectives), which is based on consultation and collaborative processes in permit applications under the Swedish Environmental Code.
Has completed a PhD thesis titled Rimlighetsavvägningens rationalitet – Om mötet mellan ekonomi och miljö i domstolsprövningar (trans. The Rationality of the Proportionality Principle– On the Interaction Between Economy and Environment in Judicial Reviews.)
The thesis examines decision-making processes when balancing interests between environmental and economic considerations in the Swedish Land and Environment Courts. The dissertation uses the concept of rationality as an analytical tool. Central to the analysis is the view of rationality presented in Dialectic of Enlightenment by Theodor Adorno and Max Horkheimer.
My research interests focus particularly on how economically related issues relate to environmental concerns and the future challenges posed by a warmer climate.
