RESEARCH PROFILE
Dr.ir. Katrin Eling is an Assistant Professor of New Product Development in the Innovation, Technology Entrepreneurship & Marketing (ITEM) Group at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). Her key areas of expertise include creativity and innovation, new product development and, innovation management. Katrin's research focuses on the effective and efficient management of the so-called 'front end' of new product development with a special interest in the management of the creative process, decision making during the creative process, customer research and involvement, and the management of both the individuals and the teams that execute this messy 'getting-started' phase of the new product development process. Her dissertation research has challenged the utility of two established new product development principles for successful front-end management.
