Research on phenomena on the surfaces of advanced materials, which changes surface properties and thus how they can interact in various important processes such as solarcells, batteries, catalysis and other chemical and biochemical reaktions. Research on nanomaterials, their properties and synthesis, how they can be changed in shape and size, and how they can be used in different technical applications. Nanomaterials studied include carbonbased nanomaterials, such as carbon nanotubes, and nanocrystals of semiconductors, such as ZnO.
