Open access deal - Wiley
Karlstad University has entered a re-negotiated agreement with the publisher Wiley for 2025. The agreement enables KaU researchers to publish open access free of charge in a large selection of Wiley journals.
How does it work?
As submitting corresponding author you can publish open access with some 1 370 hybrid journals and more than 300 fully open access journals. Wiley applies one workflow for the hybrid journals and another for fully open access journals.
Hybrid journals
When your article is accepted for publishing you will receive an e-mail notification from Wiley, informing you that the open access fee has been prepaid by Karlstad University. You will be guided to Wiley's author service where you are asked to confirm your KaU-affiliation and make a choice of CC-license for your article.
Fully open access journals
When submitting your manuscript through Wiley's manuscript central you will be asked to answer a question on "Article Publication Charge", i.e. the open access fee. At this point, you should choose the radio button "My institution or funder has an agreement with Wiley and may pay the Article Publication Charge". Then, choose KaU as affiliation and copy the affiliation code for KaU provided by the system. You will receive e-mail confirmation from Wiley that the charge has been paid for you. When the manuscript has been accepted for publishing, you will be asked to select CC-license for it.
