With the development of new technology the opportunities for researchers to become visible have increased. Today, funders and other actors expect easy access to both research output and the researchers themselves. Being present in social media and getting a research profile can be tools to improve your visibility as a researcher, which in turn can increase your ability to find research networks and sustain scholarly communication.

Research profile at KAU

As a researcher you can create your own KAU online research profile. In your research profile you can describe ongoing research and research interests, highlight research publications and societal collaboration. The research profile is also linked to DiVA, which means that users are able to view a comprehensive list of all of your DiVA publications. You register and manage your research profile through your personal account page on Inslaget.

Research profile outside KAU

There are several social media offering scholars opportunities to communicate research. Some of these are: Academia.edu, Mendeley, ResearchGate.

Besides these there are also more general social media used by many scholar to keep contact with peers, e.g.: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter.
