REPERTOIRE AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR FLUTE
The entrance exams consist of two parts: a first round with online video upload and then if you are considered potentially accepted you are asked to come to Ingesund School of music for second round of main instrument exams as well as music theory exams.
ROUND 1 (VIDEOS)
You should record and upload two videos:
- Obligatory piece: First movement of Mozart flute concerto in G major, beginning until and including bar 150 (no cadenza)
- A freely chosen piece in other style and era than the obligatory piece
You may play with or without accompaniment. You may choose to play with pre-recorded accompaniment or equivalent.

If you pass examination in round 1, you will be called to further examination in round 2.
ROUND 2 (ON SITE AT INGESUND SCHOOL OF MUSIC)
- A freely chosen piece or movement for solo flute (preferably composed after 1950)
- A freely chosen piece or movement from other style or era (not same piece as in first round)
- Interpretation test: sheet music is provided 20 minutes before the audition
INSTRUCTIONS AND CRITERIA FOR VIDEOS
- For the video to be considered valid, your face and hands must be visible at all the time.
- When uploading videos, you also need to upload a photo of an official identification ID card. That means that you don’t have to identify yourself in the movies if you don’t want to.
- Each video should be filmed in one shooting. No clips or other technical edits are allowed.
- The sound has to be in good quality, and you as main player has to be heard clearly all the time.
- Good image quality with light and good sharpness.
- The recordings should be uploaded in MP4 or MOV formats.
- Make sure that the movies are not too long; focus on what you wish to convey to the jury.
If the instructions are not followed and the recordings are in any way perceived to have been modified, your submitted work samples will be deemed invalid.
