Student work on development of digital matching service
2017-11-14During the autumn four groups of students on the course Service Management and IT have worked with interviewing different target groups and suggesting improvements of a prototype to a digital matching service, which Compare has produced.
The purpose is to support companies to get started with investments on digitalizing and to get more innovative small and medium companies through digital innovation. The pilot study “A digitalized Värmland”, that took place during 2016, showed that the region’s small and medium companies are characterized by a low innovation and digitalized scale in several industries. The pilot study developed a prototype to a digital matching service that the students on the course “Service Management and IT” have taken a closer look at.
The students were tasked in interviewing relevant target groups. It was ICT-companies, small and medium companies within cleaning and building industries as well as bank adviser and business advisers in Värmland.
"We wanted to find out the digital matching service should contain and how it should work at its best for respond to the target groups needs, through the case", says Fredrik Lindholm, digital business developer at Compare.
The supervisor has been Odd Fredriksson, informatics at the Business School at Karlstad University and Martin Hamilton, Drivhuset. On the examination day of the course the students presented their results and suggestion on improvements of the prototype for representatives in Compare, which will now develop the platform.
