Moyses Araujo Delivered Plenary Lecture at Leading Materials Science Conference in Brazil
2026-10-14Moyses Araujo, Professor of Physics at Karlstad University, recently participated as a plenary speaker at the Brazilian Materials Research Society Meeting (SBPMat), one of the leading materials science conferences in Latin America.
The conference brought together around 2,300 researchers, engineers and students from across the world to discuss the future of materials for energy, environmental and technological applications.
As one of only seven invited plenary speakers, Moyses Araujo presented research from Karlstad University in a lecture entitled “Towards Digital Design of Organic Functional Materials for Energy and Environmental Technologies”. Plenary lectures are among the most prominent events in the conference programme and are scheduled without parallel sessions. The lecture attracted approximately 1,500 participants to the conference centre’s main auditorium.
“It was an excellent opportunity to showcase our research and at the same time raise the international profile of Karlstad University,” says Moyses Araujo.
In his presentation, he highlighted the university’s research on the digital design of functional organic materials for energy and environmental technologies. The conference is an important meeting place for materials researchers in Latin America and brings together internationally recognised experts in the field each year.
