Clear River Racing
Clear River Racing is both a project and a racing team. It is also an example that studying at university is more than lectures and reading lists.

Clear River Racing and Formula Student are perfect examples of a project that integrates theory and practice and gives experience for life.
Formula student
Formula Student is an annual project where students from different universities around the world construct one-seat formula cars from scratch and compete against one another. Karlstad University’s team, Clear River Racing, consists of seven project groups:
- Chassis
- Wheel suspension and manoeuvring
- Engine and driveline
- Coachwork and aerodynamics
- Electronics
- Finance and marketing
The project groups work together for a year during and after scheduled hours. They are supported by a modern work environment, state of the art computer programs and a multifaceted and experienced project management for coaching and providing useful tips.
External funding
A project of this size needs strong funding and through industrial contacts this has been provided and prospects have always been bright. Clear River Racing has the goal to participate in a great number of fairs during the project to exhibit the project as well as the sponsors and give information to interested visitors.
The principal and final goal is to participate in the annual, international racing event, the Formula Student at Silverstone in England to compete with universities from the whole world and to represent Sweden and Swedish engineering.
