Prevention of unexpected ending of child placement in foster care
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course comprises three parts. The first part centres on the possibilities and risks of foster home placement in regard to the child's social services record, foster family investigation and the planning of measures before and during the placement. The second part deals with critical and supporting processes in foster home placement from the perspectives of the child, guardian/biological parents and the foster family. Systems theory and theories on bonding, salutogenesis, and supporting processes. The third part consists of practical application of risk and event analysis to understand and prevent events that can lead to breakdown.
