Internship in geographical information technology

The course gives students the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge related to their field of study in practice.

The course comprises a period of practical placement in a company or organisation relevant to the field of study. The practical placement includes varied tasks at a company and the opportunity to gain insight into its operations. Students are assigned a placement supervisor and are also expected to stay in touch with their university teacher throughout the course.

At the end of the course, students present a report in oral and written form.

Students are expected to find and apply for a suitable practical placement in consultation with the course convener. Students submit a description of the work involved for the approval of the course convener.

Progressive specialisation: G2F (has at least 60 credits in first‐cycle course/s as entry requirements)

Education level: Undergraduate level

Admission requirements: At least 60 ECTS credits completed in the Surveying Technology and Geographical IT Engineering programme or the Surveying and Mapping programme, or equivalent

Selection:

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
