Music and Music Teaching 1
22.5 ECTS creditsThe course comprises four modules. The course content prepares students for school-based placements within the subject area.
Module 1: Instrument, 7.5 ECTS cr.
This module includes main instrument studies, ensemble playing with the main instrument, ergonomics, and fundamental approaches to musical interaction.
Module 2: Instrument continuation, 3 ECTS cr.
This module includes chord instruments (piano), ensemble instruments, and voice training.
Module 3: Music education, 6 ECTS cr.
This module covers general music education, instrumental teaching methodology, and group teaching methods.
Module 4: Music knowledge, 6 ECTS cr.
This module primarily includes ear training, practical ear training exercises, music theory, chord theory, polyphony, and digital music/notation production.
In the modules where music is the primary subject, a general introduction to teacher education is provided, including its role as an academic professional training program.

Selection:
Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
