Thesis 1 - Music education
15.0 ECTS creditsStudents formulate a problem on the basis of their own musical performance process and draw up a plan for the assignment, carry out the project and present their results orally, in writing, and in performance.
The course includes the following:
- formulating a problem, purpose, and questions
- searching for and selecting relevant literature and other materials
- planning the work process and implementation of the project as well as the choice, planning, and description of adequate methods of documentation, such as video recordings and log books
- carrying out the project, including collecting, processing, and analysing empirical data
- ethical aspects
- presenting and discussing the project, including results and conclusions
- presenting the project in a written thesis as well as orally and in performance, for instance in the form of an artistic musical performance, a poster presentation, a video documentation, and/or other relevant form of presentation
- performance in a final seminar, including group discussion and peer review

Completed Music and music teaching 3, 15 ECTS credits, and Teachers' pedagogical approach 1 - Music teachers, 7.5 ECTS credits, plus Instrument and ensemble 1, 7.5 ECTS credits, or Classroom music teaching 1, 7,5 ECTS credits, or Music theory and composition 1, 7,5 ECTS credits, or Music and sound production 1, 7,5 ECTS credits, and registered for Music and music teaching 4, 7.5 ECTS credits, and Teachers' pedagogical approach 2 - Music teachers, 7.5 ECTS credits, plus Instrument and ensemble 2, 7.5 ECTS credits, or Classroom music teaching 2, 7,5 ECTS credits, or Music theory and composition 2, 7,5 ECTS credits, or Music and sound production 2, 7,5 ECTS credits, or equivalent

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
