Music Theory and Composition 1
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course comprises two modules and prepares students for practical placement in the area of music.
Module 1: Music pedagogy 1 ECTS cr
Components: Music theory and composition teaching methodology for upper secondary and secondary education and teaching practice in the form of classroom observations.
Module 2: Music theory 6.5 ECTS cr
Components: Practice in notating and playing rhythms, tunes, and chords in ability groups, the basic principles of instrumentation for the most common instrument groups and instrument knowledge, and introduction to and discussion of different composition techniques.
