Thesis 2 - Music Education
15.0 ECTS creditsStudents carry out an independent thesis project on a music-specific teaching question, under supervision.
The course comprises the following components:
- formulating a topic, purpose, and research question
- research ethics
- choice and justification of methodological approach in relation to the question
- systematic literature search
- collecting, processing, and compiling empirical material
- analysis and discussion of the empirical material in the light of theory, aim and questions
- documenting the study in writing
- defending the study
- serving as a peer reviewer

Completed Music and music teaching 8, 7.5 ECTS credits, Teachers' professional leadership 2 - Music teachers, 7.5 ECTS credits, and Thesis 1 - Music education, 15 ECTS credits, and registered for Music and music teaching 9, 7.5 ECTS credits, Grading and assessing - Music teachers, 7.5 ECTS credits, plus School on a scientific basis - Music teachers, 7.5 ECTS credits, and Instrument and ensemble 7, 7.5 ECTS credits, or Classroom music teaching 7, 7,5 ECTS credits, or Music theory and composition 7, 7,5 ECTS credits, or Music and sound production 7, 7,5 ECTS credits, or equivalent

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
