The Engineering profession in practice
15.0 ECTS creditsThe course involves practical work in a firm. The students' duties may vary depending on the workplace. Students are expected to participate in the daily business, perform given tasks, and get time to complete their study assignments.
Prior to the placement period, an individual plan specifying the tasks and examination areas is drawn up by the examiner, the workplace supervisor and the student in conjunction. The plan should guarantee that the student is given the chance to meet the learning requirements.
On at least two occasions, a teacher will supervise at the workplace. If required, the individual plan can be revised on the supervised occasions.
If specified in the individual plan, the placement can be divided into two consecutive and full-time four-week periods. A complete course consists of eight weeks full-time work placement.

90 ECTS cr for courses on the innovation and design programme, or mechanical engineering or Master of Science programme in mechanical engineering
