Psychiatry and physiology of behaviour

The course covers the physiology behind common behaviours, for instance sensations, emotions, learning and memory, and sleep and biorhythms. The course also treats common psychiatric disorders such as anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), personality disorder, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorder. Symptoms, diagnostics, and treatment of psychiatric disorders are discussed, as well as the difference between an everyday behavioural anomaly and behaviour associated with psychiatric illness.
