15.0 ECTS creditsWith an emphasis on the secondary school levels, the course covers descriptions and problematisations of:
- the political governance of school at different levels, especially in regard to the support and control functions of the National Agency for Education and the Swedish Schools Inspectorate
- the organisation of the education system in Sweden and other countries
- the legal framework of education with an emphasis on core values and international agreements on human rights and children's rights
- the modern history of the Swedish modern history with glimpses of the earlier history in relation to diversity with an emphasis on class and gender equity
- curriculum theory with an emphasis on Swedish curricular research and its descriptions
- pedagogic and subject-specific education research perspectives on school,
- school core values nationally and locally in an intersectoral perspective, and
- aesthetical forms of expression.
