Visual Arts and Music
30.0 ECTS creditsThe course comprises two modules, both involving literature study, lectures, seminars, group exercises, workshops and oral, written and practical tasks, individually and in groups.
Module 1 Visual Arts, 15 ECTS cr
The module centres on laboratory sessions on materials and tools. Students explore different perspectives on and applications of visual thinking, and experiment with colour theory applications. Thematic studies of image interpretation and visual arts practice are related to issues of diversity and gender. Documentation, grading and assessment using ICT are recurring elements.
Module 2 Music, 15 ECTS cr
The module includes lectures, seminars and workshops on music pedagogy and rhythm linked to curricular descriptions of the subject music. Students practise accompaniment on the piano and the guitar as well as vocally, musical performance, creative music-making and musical leadership. The module treats harmony in practice and theory and provides a survey of musical contexts functions, gender and identity. Documentation, grading and assessment using ICT are recurring elements.
