Didactics and Teaching Practice II
15.0 ECTS creditsInstruction is in the form of meetings on campus and 6 weeks' teaching practice at a designated partner school. These course components are integrated and inter-dependent. Instruction is in the form of obligatory meetings on campus, teaching practice, lectures, group discussions, workshops, seminars, and group work.
The course covers:
-theories on how pupils' thought patterns, difficulties, and motivation affect learning,
-relevant teaching and learning methods such as lectures, group work, problem solving, lab work, and homework,
-comparisons and critical evaluations of various teaching materials such as coursebooks, audio/video material, and the Internet,
-description and problematisation of core values and the democratic role and function of educational institutions,
-young people's situation in school and society,
-critical reflections on learning and teaching on the basis of empirical research findings and students' personal experiences in the teacher training period.

Admission requirements:
At least 180 credits in the chosen fields of specialisation and/or equivalent professional experience. For students on the teacher education programme for lower secondary teachers, a minimum of 90 credits in each subject is required. For students on the teacher education programme for upper secondary teachers, a minimum of 120 credits in each subject is required.
Selection:
Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
