Conditions of Learning I
15.0 ECTS creditsInstruction is in the form of meetings on campus and 1 week of teaching practice at a partner school. These course components are integrated and inter-dependent. Instruction is in the form of obligatory meetings on campus, teaching practice, lectures, group discussions, workshops, seminars, and group work.
The course covers the following subject areas:
-the role and function of educational institutions in society as well as its conditions and steering systems, with special emphasis on idea-historical and historical perspectives,
-relations between school and society,
-institutional perspectives on theories dealing with the learning and socialisation of young people and adults, from the perspectives of past, present, and future society,
-critical reflections on teaching and learning on the basis of group work, empirical research findings, and personal experiences in teaching practice.

Admission requirements:
At least 180 credits in the chosen fields of specialisation and/or equivalent professional experience. For students on the teacher education programme for lower secondary teachers, a minimum of 90 credits in each subject is required. For students on the teacher education programme for upper secondary teachers, a minimum of 120 credits in each subject is required.
Selection:
Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
