Cultural Studies Method II

The course provides further insights into key cultural studies methods and theoretical principles for analysing the cultural sector and its conditions, field of activities, and forms of expression in relation to the traditions and approaches of the theory and philosophy of science. The overview of the methods and theories of cultural studies takes its starting-point in current cultural policy and continually problematises the practical and social dimensions of theory. The course also includes an introduction to current cultural policy research in the Nordic countries with an emphasis on methods and theory in cultural studies.
