Biorefinery
2.5 ECTS creditsThe course covers the theoretical and practical process of transitioning from a traditional pulp mill to a biorefinery. The course content comprises traditional pulp technology, including dissolving pulp technology, inorganic process chemistry, separation and utilisation of lignin, hemicellulose and tall oil, recycling of chemicals, extractives, energy generation, and environmental aspects.
The course includes an individual project which provides students with the opportunity to conduct an in-depth study of a chosen product.

Admission requirements
Introduction to Pro2Be Expert, 1.5 ECTS credits, and work experience in the forest industry equivalent to two years of full-time employment, or 90 ECTS credits completed in an Engineering programme, including an independent project of 15 ECTS credits, plus upper secondary level English 6 and Swedish 3, or equivalent

Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
