Drug Dosage Calculation

The course comprises:

• units and unit conversion
• calculation of dosage and effective substance in tablets, capsules, suppositories, oral solutions, injections and infusions from prescriptions
• calculate and prepare dilutions
• calculate the speed and time of infusion
• calculate gas for medical use
• assess the plausibility of the calculation

Instruction is in the form of literature studies and individual training, lectures and tutorials. The course can be taken at an early stage in the programme and can start in term 1 or 2.

Progressive specialisation: G1N (has only upper‐secondary level entry requirements)

Education level: Undergraduate level

Admission requirements: General admission requirements and Mathematics B, Social Science A, Natural Science B (or Physics A, Chemistry A and Biology A).

Selection: Selection is usually based on your grade point average from upper secondary school or the number of credit points from previous university studies, or both.
