Geographies of Digital Transformations
7.5 ECTS creditsThe course highlights the spatial aspects of digitalisation. The rise of digitalisation is reshaping both economic and spatial structures. By critically analysing digital practices and their infrastructures, it becomes possible to understand how representations of place are produced, negotiated and distributed in digital settings. This raises questions about how digital space is mapped, depicted and structured, as well as how these processes generate new forms of spatial order. In addition, the course problematises new spatial practices, experiences and opportunities for transformation in which digital networks transcend established geographical boundaries.
